The Upper Ojai Search and Rescue team and the Ventura County Sheriff's office work closely with the Ventura County Fire Department to ensure that the residents of our county are properly notified in the event of a local wildland fire. We are dispatched by the Sheriff's Department by a request of the VCFD or the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in Ventura. The Search and Rescue team's main responsibility to to assist in the notification and warning of a local wildland event.
In the event of a wildland fire our team uses these pages to ensure we are aware of the current weather and fire situations. Our command post has internet connectivity as well as our personal iPhones and Blackberry devices. This technology allows us to access this information remotely from the field.
