The Upper Ojai team's Swift Water team covers the our response
area of Upper Ojai, Ojai, Ventura, Santa Paula, Saticoy and
Oxnard. This includes the Ventura River, Santa Clara River, the
Santa Paula Creek, the San Antonio Creek and the Matilija Creek
and finally the Sespe Creek. We also respond to water emergencies throughout the
county. We are typically predeployed to known dangerous/flood
prone areas able to respond quickly to an incident. Recently
(2005) we
rescued 3 people from vehicles and plucked 6 people from the
Ventura river with assistance from the Sheriff's Helicopter. We
also assisted in the evacuation of hundreds of people this year
in the Ventura and Santa Clara Valleys. Below are some photos of
the rescue in La Canada and some recent training exercises.
