On our training this day, we practiced a high angle rope rescue systems, with a litter attendant. This is where we package an injured victim in to our litter and haul the injured party along with a rescuer to the top of the cliff. This is the only way do get the subject out of the canyon. Further down the canyon it becomes impassable especially for a litter to be carried, because of the dangers of the rushing water.
